History

Science Academy of Chicago (SAC) is the culmination of the expectations and beliefs of parents of Chicago school children and educators at Niagara Educational Services (NES). NES is a non-for profit educational organization that has been serving the people of Chicago since 1997 by offering affordable math and science tutoring from fourth grade through college level, ACT/SAT, computer training, summer schools and language classes.

Science Academy of Chicago located in Cook County is officially recognized according to Policy and Guidelenes for Registration and Recognition of Nonpublic Elementary and Secondary Schools. This Certificate of Recognition is issued annually to schools that maintain the criteria adopted by Illinois State Board of Education for recognized nonpublic elementary and secondary schools. Issued at Springfield, Illinois.

Throughout our experiences at NES we have come to realize that most students are severely lacking even the most basic math and science skills. The parents of our students were equally concerned with this situation and requested us to enhance and better publicize our services. There is a great need for a college preparatory school with special emphasis on math and science education. We saw the opportunity to open a private school serving Chicago as an opportunity to bring our knowledge and expertise to the students and parents.

The goal of SAC is to fully prepare students to carry the torch of knowledge, freedom, and prosperity that is passed from generation to generation in this great country. SAC is to be a small, structured school having grades K-8th with an enrollment of 20 students per grade.
