School Structure:
Science Academy of Chicago is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school providing accelerated education to students from grade Pre-kindergarten through grade eight. Admission is open to all qualified students and is not based on race, religion, color or ethnic origin.

Curriculum:
The subjects taught by the Science Academy of Chicago are English, science, mathematics, social studies, computer technology, foreign languages, character education, drama, art, music and physical education..

Before / After School Care:
Science Academy of Chicago opens its doors at 7:00 a.m. Students are supervised in a classroom until first bell at 8:00 a.m.

Students at Science Academy of Chicago may stay until 6:00 p.m. if they need. They are supervised by a staff member. The students will have after school activities from 3:10-4:00pm. After care begins at 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, for $10.00 an hour.

Access to Student Records via Internet:
Parents at Science Academy of Chicago can follow along their children’s classroom activities, homework, assignments, and grades via the Internet. All of the teachers at Science Academy of Chicago use the “SAC Database” Teachers securely publish grades and class activities on the Internet for students and parents. Parents receive their passwords from the administration and set up their account on the Internet. Parents may log in and check out what is published by the teachers and administration at anytime.

Lunch:
Science Academy of Chicago does not provide lunch or snacks for the students. Students must provide a lunch and snack from home. During field trips we ask that the students lunch be packed in a disposable zip top bag, labeled with students’ name and classroom teacher.
