MONDAY CLUBS

An Enrichment Class for PK4, kindergarteners, and 1st graders. Each week a fascinating topic will be explored ranging from Ancient Egypt to endangered animals. Lots of hands-on activities and projects will be completed during class that your child will be excited to share with you! 

 

Cosmopolitan Club |KG & 1st| Ms. De La Luz

Cosmopolitan Club is for KG & 1st Gr students. Members will enjoy learning about people, food, holidays, and culture in other countries. We will spend two weeks in each country right from our classroom. Learning about the locations of the countries and begin to develop an understanding of our world will also be on the agenda. This will inspire curiosity about the world in the young one. Attendance policy: After 3 unexcused absences from the club, the student may be removed from the club. Students must be picked up at 4 pm. Students who are not picked up promptly by 4:10 will be taken to the aftercare room. 

 

Fairy Tale Club |PK 3 & 4| Ms. Cynthia

In the fairy tale club, we will read a variety of stories where we will identify characters and settings. We will also complete STREAM activities that correspond to the story. Attendance Policy: After 5 absences the student will no longer be allowed to attend the club.

Learn to code through storytelling and game building, hands-on projects, and play. Completely visual and tactile learning, no reading required. Topics include algorithms, and skills boosting in problem solving and teamwork. Activities include game development with Scratch Jr, CodeSpark and unplugged activities.

 

Recycle Art Club |1ST – 3rd| Ms. Fathima & Ms. Tavus

MONDAY | 3:15pm-4:00pm | Limit 10 | Rm 276

Using home waste materials like bottles, cans, empty tissue rolls, and plastic bags, we are turning into something new and useful. Awareness of the environment, so the students can think and act to keep the environment clean. To reduce the effect of global warming and pollution to save the planet from itself first. Attendance policy: After 3 unexcused absences from the club, the student may be removed from the club. Students must be picked up at 4 pm. Students who are not picked up promptly by 4:10 will be taken to the aftercare room.

Super Soccer Stars uses specially designed curricula and low kid-to-coach ratios to nurture, build self-confidence, and develop teamwork in every child. 

 

Bookworms Club |KG- / 1ST | Ms. Danielle

Do your student love books and all things reading? Then the Book Worms club is perfect for them. Students will get to delve into their love of literacy through various games and activities in this exciting club. Attendance Policy: 3 missed classes (unless special circumstances) and the student will be removed. 

 

Coding Club |1st / 2nd| Ms. Peterson

Explore and introduction to coding. Students will have the chance to learn about basic coding. Once they learn the basics they will practice coding the movement of Dash the robot. They will create obstacle courses for Dash to make his way through. 

 

Farm Club | PK 3/ 4 | Ms. Laura 

TUESDAY | 3:15pm-4:00pm | Limit 10 | Rm 161

In Farm Club, we will learn about different animals that live on the farm, and what type of food grows. We will also be reading different types of farm books, and create different art activities and science experiments involving the farm. Attendance Policy: Attendance is required each week. If absent after 3 times you will be asked to leave the club. When in the club we will practice good listening skills and work together when in a group. 

 

Cross Stitch Club |2nd / 3rd| Mrs. Alba 

TUESDAY | 3:15pm-4:00pm | Limit 10 | Rm 168 | Materials Fee, $20 

In this club, your child will learn the easiest form of hand embroidery. Using a needle and embroidery thread students will learn how to form an X by stitching two diagonals with 2 strands of thread. Students will have to count and stitch X’s in various colors on aida cloth based on a pattern of their choice. In learning this skill, students will learn the importance of attention to detail, utilize their counting skills, and strengthen hand-eye coordination to look at a pattern to stitch the appropriate stitches in the correct place. Students will be required to complete at least one project by year’s end. Attendance policy: Students may miss up to 2 times before being asked to leave. 

 

Yoga Club |KG & 1st| Ms. Askharia

“Inhale…Exhale…It’s Time To Do Some Yoga!” Join yoga club where your child will have some fitness fun! Each week we will be learning new poses and breathing techniques through themed stories and interactive games both whole group and small group.Through yoga children are able to: – relax -relieve stress/anxiety -improve flexibility, strength & endurance -improve focus & concentration -boosts self esteem & self empowerment and so much more! Attendance policy: I expect students to show up every session. After 4 absences they will be automatically dropped from the club.

The chess team will allow both beginners and experts to improve their strategy and challenge their friends in the game of chess. The class is taught by Grand Master Nikola Mitkov, who has vast experience playing chess and working with individual and school teams. There is a fee for this club.

Upper Elementary Yoga Club |2nd & 3rd| Ms. Ottaviano

Students will go on yoga adventures, and other mindfulness and relaxation content, to help them build their mental and physical strength, and improve social-emotional skills, and confidence!
